A STRONG START TO 2018 I am excited to introduce myself to you as the new chief executive officer of NMHC. I began this position on Jan. 1, the same date that NMHC officially evolved into two companies. Our new health plan, True Health New Mexico, took on NMHC mem- bers who had employer-sponsored coverage. NMHC continues to provide coverage for individual and SHOP group members. In my short time as CEO, I have been enjoying the challenge and the opportunity to continue the things that make NMHC a different kind of health plan—while striving to improve our service to you. With more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, most of it in this state, I understand the problems that New Mexicans face in finding affordable health coverage and access to quality care. I’m proud to be part of a health plan that was formed to find solutions to those problems. Every day, our employees work to help you get the care and coverage you need. And in this newsletter, we share information about your benefits; helpful tools, like our member portal; and general information that can help you live healthier lives. The healthcare industry is always changing, and NMHC has changed in the past year too. But what has not changed is our unwavering commitment to helping you reach your best state of health—and stay there. Also, thanks to the dedication of NMHC’s board of directors, management and staff, we began 2018 in a financially strong position. I’m confi- dent that NMHC will be here for New Mexicans for a long time to come, and I’m looking forward to a year of growth. Marlene C. Baca, Chief Executive Officer Looking for your ID card?
