Although it will continue to evolve, it appears nothing will change for 2018 at this point. The federal open enrollment period for 2018 coverage for individuals and on- exchange small businesses began on Nov. 1 and will close at midnight on Dec. 15, 2017. This is a much shorter time frame than in past years. If you want to change your health plan for 2018, avoid the last- minute rush and choose a new plan as early as possible. The article on page 1 provides details about preparing for open enrollment. NMHC remains committed to helping you find affordable insurance. The 2018 rate increases are very frustrating—for you and for us. Premiums are set through a complex equation that includes the current political uncertainty about the Affordable Care Act as a key factor. We are doing all we can to manage healthcare costs so that rates do not keep rising. True Health New Mexico We are poised for growth in 2018, most significantly through an expanded partner- ship we have created with Evolent Health. With this partnership we are launching a new health plan, True Health NewMexico, to support small and large groups. NMHC will remain focused on individual on- and off-exchange health plans. We will still offer the same service, health plans, and the same mission to keep your health our top priority. We will share more details with you in future issues of MyConnection .
